FTHR-001 Hard-coating Resin
FTHR-001 Hard-coating Resin is a transparent cover-layer of a fusion solution with two opposite features: glass-like hardness (up to 9H) and plastic-like flexibility (foldable up to half million times), making it possible for foldable touch screen with super hard surface and robust bending durability. Our new technology endows the anti-scratch to plastics and the folding durability/pen drop resistance to ultra-thin glass.
FTHR-001 Hard-coating Resin with thickness of dozen of micrometers can protect the CPI substrates from the scratch destruction of 9H pencil scraping and steel wool scratching, which simulates the daily life usage of touch screen. CPI with NAMI nCoating can also withstand half million times folding even at the small bending radius as low as 1.5mm. In booming flexible display and foldable touch screen, such flexible anti-scratch function would provide highly effective protection to the display surface without loss of folding flexibility.
In the alternative foldable screen technology, UTG is becoming more and more attractive for its creaseless surface after folding, with similar appearance and touch feeling to conventional display glass. Nevertheless, the intrinsic fragileness during bending and pen drop may cause failure of mechanical integrity as display substrates, though physical and chemical strengthening technology can compensate the brittleness to some extent by putting the outer surfaces into compression and the inner surfaces into tension. FTHR-001 Hard-coating Resin is able to provide 5~9 fold pen drop height increase to 30 and 50um UTG. At the same time, 50um UTG passes the bending durability test with the bending radius of 1.5mm with hard coating support. In contrast, the uncoated UTG is broken immediately at as low as 1.5mm bending radius. The robustness of UTG is enhanced by NAMI nCoating and potentially contributes to the device manufacturer to meet the challenge from the market need of durable flexible display technology.
